Looming towers of darkness with small, trembling lights which struggle in vain to illuminate the street surround you, making the black sky seem a brilliant myriad of stars and milky-azureness in comparison. People slide by you as though not holding real substance; their shadows have absorbed that which created them. The street is rough and lends a feeling of security to you, as though it is your only connection to what is real.

Warm, yellow lights shine out from a few places where people seem to be conrgegating to hold out the darkness, and music just loud enough to hear but not recognize warms you up in the biting air. You feel as though someone is staring not into your eyes, but through them into, (or out of) something beyond. A distant siren keens and splits the quiet which was so thick as to almost feel palpable. Images of people and things swim by your eyes, images drowning in rivers of blood....

Welcome to the world of Bloodletting: Dublin by Night.

We at Dublin are seeking to create an environment of mystery, struggle, and fear. Our theme is one of trying to seek that which you want while keeping others from taking it from you, as well as trying to hold on to your reason and comfort in a place that breeds mystery and fear.

We will be working with a system that will allow the "Story" to be put back in "StoryTeller" where the actions of an individual are part of a greater action. While we will have characters that dwell within the Supernatural, a good deal of our focus will be holding to our theme for all the players in Dublin. Eventually, we will have a group of players so intertwined and involved that the distinction of super vs mortal no longer becomes as important as playing your own part in a larger story....

It's raining in Manchester today. The sky above you in Albert Square is a sombre slate grey, almost the same colour as the dark paving stones at your feet, and as a result, it is almost impossible to determine the time of day: the light is at best ambiguous. The rain-laden wind cuts harshly into your exposed face as you take a moment to reflect upon your surroundings: the square is vast, gloomy, and largely empty, a reminder of Victorian grandeur and national pride which no longer exists in the cheerless, grey country that Britain is rapidly becoming.

In the heart of the square stands an ornate monument to the Prince Consort who died in 1861, and looming above it, a great, solid dark shape against the darkly-brooding skyline, is the imposing, intimidating edifice of Manchester Town Hall, a mighty collage of spires, buttresses and gargoyles, a resplendent flourish of Gothic magnificence. This is the heart of the City of Darkness.

City of Darkness is a Storyteller MUSH unlike any other. Its setting is Manchester, an industrial city in the north-west of England and a place of many extremes. City of Darkness is at melandra.cs.man.ac.uk 2000, connect to the guest character, take some time to read our -extensive- news files and find out all about us. There will be extensive changes to the MUSH starting in June and characters with extensive RP before that point will have a much better position in the new MUSH which will replace the existing one.

Yes that does mean that the existing database will be closed down and there will be some changes in theme, but old characters will be able to port to the new database automatically and will naturally keep all their background and expereince intact. In the meantime there are several months until June and there are super slots open for Vampires and Garou.

Dark Gift

Dripping from the sewer grate above your head, a brownish, syrup type substance slides down your cheek as you start awake... wondering... "where the hell am I?" A rat skitters accross you foot and you jerk it back, splashing sewer water up onto your face. You look around in the dim light shining down from the sewer grate above, long, cylidrical objects lay in piles above the water line and below... tatters and trash flow in the murky slime.

The light from above is blocked and you look up to see what happened... but you are greeted by a face only... well, even a mother wouldn't love this thing. "Well, my precious little gravelly bit of human flesh... what do you think of my little... cupboard?" the sounds come out of the hole in the face that resembles a mouth... four claw-like fangs protrude from it's lips in a hideous smile.

"Speechless?"

It walks away bringing the light back to flood the crawlspace you're in... you look off into the darkness, shivering, cold, hungry... and a pair of red eyes stare back at you from the din. "Welcome... to Pittsburgh... Monsignor..."

And the world goes black...


Dark Gift, former The Damned, of Pittsburgh features the classic WoD a la White Wolf. We are currently running the following systems: Vampire:The Masquerade including Camarilla, Anarch, Sabbat and Black hand. Werewolf:The Apocolypse including almost all shifters. Welcome to the future. 2021, the Los Angeles Tiajuana Metropolitan Area (LATMA). Twenty years ago, civilization collapsed, in what is now called the Fall. But, thanks to the tenacity of the human spirit (aided by a few 'helping' hands) civilization has been rebuilt. Bigger, better, brighter, newer. Gothic and Victorian excess mesh to face the modern at this shaded corner. Affluent law firms and stockbrokers have grabbed the finer of the older buildings with their ornate marble facades to have a shot at influence in the evolving Silicon Valley. The Bank of America building with its plain stone facing reaching up to a narrow gothic spire epitomizes the San Jose of old. Bronze medallions representing sailing ships and Mercury signify the commerce upon which California was originally based. Nearby modern offices with their blue or black windows echo the magic boxes and semiconductors on which the new California depends. The skyscrapers on either side of the street form a canyon which is shaded for much of the day. Commuters wait at the ultra-modern, glass-shaded tops of the Transit Mall, under the web of trolley wires running north and south from here.

You start playing a human.

This room looks like a museum, filled with various objects on display. On the far wall, larger than life, is a street map of Oklahoma City, with the downtown section circled boldly with red, and "Elysium" scrawled across it. In clear Lucite display cases stand Native American headdresses and clothing, as well as a number of small statues and paintings by Native American artists. On the other side of the room, a diorama of the Great Land Run dominates, framed by old reproductions of images of cowboys, settlers, and Oklahoma City in the early years. Scattered around are certain other objects, though... a ruined harp, a charred piece of a sign reading "Martyr...", and a warped, engraved silver knife.

This is Elysium MUSH, a Storyteller MUSH set in the current day. We are the second oldest ST MUSH, and were even featured in a small blurb in Wired Magazine, March '94. The setting is Oklahoma City, with a few small tweaks to darken it a little. :) We have active Garou, Mage, and Vampire populations, with quality players. As you look around you find yourself on the outskirts of a fairly ordinary city, one that could exist anywhere on earth if circumstances so permitted. As it so happens, this is the city of Tempe, Arizona, and it is anything but ordinary. In a world of darkness, mortals still have no idea that they are not alone. An ultraconservative political faction, known as the Librians, has taken control of the country and any controversial or thought provoking material has been banned, leading to an underground movement of poets and writers intent on bringing the classics and freedom of choice back to the public. A few years earlier, a supercomputer named Jonathan gained sentience and attempted to satiate his thirst for knowledge by assimilating the world's databases. This caused such an enormous strain on the delicate laws of nature and several regions known as flux space opened, regions of great radiation and destruction. After a few years, these flux zones quieted, and some even stabilized into permanent gates to other realities, worrying the Librian government that creative thought would once again be introduced into the populace. In response, they banned flux gate travel except for a futuristic high tech realm and a medieval realm. Others exist, but their entrances remain a carefully guarded secret...

Welcome to Flux Mush... the year is 2000 and the world has changed greatly. Many things are still the same, and for many, business goes on as usual, but the first stages of cybertechnology are being produced and carefully guarded by the government, as are the locations of most of the existing Flux gates. The mush is currently IC Dark, 24 hours a day, and their are many alternate realities for you to roleplay in. Sin is a realm with no sun and rampant crime, while the modern world of Tempe remains relatively stable, with the exceptions of the vampires, werewolves, wraiths, mages, changlings demons and minions of the wyrm roaming... along with a few surprises... Full Circle

Full Circle is a World of Darkness MUX set in the fictious town of New Hope Beach, on the east coast of Florida. The theme is one of policial intrigue, as well as social and moral decay.

Full Circle is a semi-private MUX, with registration requirements. There will be a set E-mail address as soon as we have one, for people to mail applications to. Currently, you must log in as a guest and speak with staff for a character. We are dedicated only to the highest standards of RP.

We are using Vampires, Garou, Gypsies, and will be phasing in Wraiths at a later date. Currently we have apps open in all areas. We need builders as well. Limited IC RP will begin in 2-3 weeks, but we are allowing people to get started early to build areas for their characters.

Garou is a roleplaying MUSH centered around the lives of the werewolves at a rather large Sept in eastern Washington state. Hello, this is to tell you that a new MUSH based on the storytelling system of White Wolf is going to fully open on February 1st. TrinityMUSH is the name of the place, and the address is nomadd.fiu.edu 4201.
Currently we are in need of many people to play mortals, and there are LIMITED spots for super characters (Vampires, Mages, and Werewolves). I am given permission to post about this MUSH by one of the Co-Gods, she wanted a little bit of publicity. I am a judge character on there by the name of The Brain, and I don't know if we need any other Judges. Venus MUSH

You enter a strange new world...the world of Venus. The year is 2041 and the humans have been moved to Venus. An alien race has saved the humans from anhilation and has left us a new species of leaders, the Novites. This benevolent race was the salvation of the planet when an emense asteroid struck the planet in 2034, sending tons of debris into the atmosphere and plunging Earth into the equivalent of a massive nuclear winter.

Venus has changed. The structures on Venus took years to build and are the home to almost a quarter of Earth's former population...including almost 80 percent of the animal and plant species that once occupied Earth. The mining station on Luna has been transformed into a penal colony where Venusian criminals are exiled.
