History

Little is known about Sierra's personal (read: mortal life), except that she was one of those early women who, because of the status given to her sex, chose to disguise it and become a man. She fought the War of 1812 as a Canadian scout/sniper. Somehow she got mixed up after the war and ended up in the Sierra mountains, just in time to witness the Suspire of a Salubri taking place in the foothills. Shortly afterwards she was waylaid by a group of "Academics" (Tremere) looking for the Cyclops, and was severely injured. The Salubri found her and took her in as an apprentice/Childe.

It is unknown what logical or moral justification the Salubri had for Embracing her, but it did not have the desired effect of calming her fighting nature. Shortly after the embrace, she was picked up by the Monitor of Chicago (Rebekah) and sent to Hunedora Castle. There she lived for a great many years, patronized by the Inconnu and sheltered from the real world.

After forty years of "protection", she managed the impossible, she escaped from the Castle and got back to America. Here she met up with a group of man-hating feminist new agers (read: Black Fury kinfolk), while recognizing a sisterhood of anger and spirit with the women, she was repelled at their views on men. To them she became an Osiris, taking the personage of "Athena" to counteract the rabid devotion to Diana/Artermis, she preached that not all men were evil, that some had benevolent natures and that these would join up with the women to attack those who oppressed their mothers/sisters/daughters/ lovers. She has since travelled from coven to coven trying to reverse some of the damage caused by these haters (and without conscience knowledge, helping protect the Verbena from NWO stereotyping).

In 1980, Sierra was called back to Hunedora- not as a rebel, nor as a saint, but for a mission. She was given the title of Monitor (Itinerant) and given charge to observe a young boy in Eastern Canada, who showed unusual signs of clarity of thought and spirit. He was obviously a potential mage with a powerful unawakened Avatar but more important for the Inconnu, he had once claimed to have been visited by a ghostly person bearing the likeness of Saulot! The child would have to be watched and the Inconnu felt that a Salubri would possibly be helpful, but they were afraid of sending one of the other seven, due to the nature of the province. New Brunswick was visited by Tremere quite frequently for some reason. So Sierra, mission in hand, once again was a silent, invisible scout, deep in enemy territory.

RolePlaying Notes: Sierra is the closest thing to a Salubri anti- tribu you will ever see. She can't stand the passive, non- combatant nature of her clan, and of the Inconnu in general. Of all the Salubri in history, she is the most likely to sire before the Suspire and to not kill herself for her Childe (creating a wave of 9th generation Salubri). She is a warrior at heart, and dislikes shows of authority or pompishness. She likes to tease Tremere by dropping rumours that a Salubri is around and watching them scurry about like maddened bees, perhaps taking a few of the more successful ones out to weaken the clan.

Because of her fighting nature, she is also most likely to be the first Salubri to walk the Path of Harmony- giving up on humanity all together.

[Note: this is Sierra as of 1994. When Gehenna happens, she is more like a grizzled old warrior-philosopher with a split nature of Survivor-Pedagogue. This is possibly the closest she will ever become to a Caregiver in nature or demeanor.]
